Description
H.E. Harris folder holds Eisenhower and Anthony Dollars from 1971 to 1999, along with history on the inside flap. This is a tri-fold folder that opens flat for all at once viewing with a total of 30 openings (18 openings Eisenhower Dollar and 12 for Susan B. Anthony Dollar), then closes to book size for easy storage. The number of coins minted is printed below each opening of this folder. All H.E. Harris folders are made of acid-free materials for the protection and storage of your coins. The holes in this folder have a special LOCK-IN feature. But first, a word of caution: always hold a coin by the edge and never touch its obverse or reverse. We recommend you wear gloves when pressing your coins into place. Now that you are ready, simply place the coin with one edge tipped into the hole, and then press the high edge downward and toward the lowered edge (slantwise). Feel the snap? It’s locked in! The Eisenhower Dollar (1971-1978) was introduced to honor President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who has passed away in 1969. The design on the reverse celebrates the first lunar landing. The American Eagle holds an olive branch (a symbol of peace) in its talons as it descends to the moon. The Earth can be seen in the distance. U.S Mint chief at engraver Frank Gasparro designed the coin: his initials appear on the obverse at the truncation of the bust, and the reverse below the eagle’s tail. The Anthony Dollar (1979-1981 and 1999) was introduced in honor of Susan B. Anthony, famous suffragist and women’s rights advocate. It marked the first time in history that a portrait of a “real” woman – rather than a mythological or symbolic figure – had appeared on a U.S. circulating coin.
